I have believed for a long time that applied cryptography will facilitate new types of communities. In particular, I’m interested in communities that are able to more effectively resist hegemonic influences. From that belief it’s a fairly short path to believing that participating and improving the governance of DAOs and blockchains is a socially important activity. I have limited time to participate in governance and for a number of reasons I believe my time will be most effectively used with the Optimism community.
My view on the Optimistic Vision: I strongly agree with it and think it’s something that’s required to move the entire ecosystem forward.
My view on the first three articles of the Working Constitution: I’m a big fan of 2. Token weighted voting is generally a bad idea and I’m quite pleased that acknowledging that has taken such a high priority. I’ve also recently formed a Cayman entity and I’m excited to see how The Optimism Foundation Board interacts with the community.
My skills and areas of expertise: Mechanism Design, Software Architecture, Management
My favorite Web3 projects: FOAM Space, Laconic, Optimism
I’m also happy to answer any questions anyone from the community may have.
