Delegate Statement

A brief intro to yourself: I'm an older, now retired, guy w a long-term interest in blockchain v2 technology—selected Ethereum in early 2016 as the 2nd gen blockchain tech most likely to advance well & gain the network effect, principally due to the Turing-complete smart contract capability and the quality of the people in the ecosphere advancing the tech. I continue to find this tech promising for "moving power from the centers to the edges" by making possible decentralized, permissionless, and censorship-resistant human coordination. This offers some small prospect for alternative ways to coordinate actually being achieved, slowly, and at the margin, as the tech develops over a couple of decades.

A message to the community and ecosystem: Please don't delegate to me. I have been very happy delegating to a very responsible Ethereum uber-colleague whom I first met in 2016 and is a founder and long-term open source dev in our ecosphere. I am only delegating to myself here in late 2024 to experiment and hands-on learn a bit about the Optimism governance topic two years on. I will redelegate to him in 2025 sometime.
