I aspire for Optimism to be a leverage point for the transition towards a more regenerative economy.
I resonate with the optimistic view that we are forking capitalism, and that the new system must benefit all and be owned by all. If not, we are simply losing our way.
A little about me: I have been strongly committed for some years to contributing to a more horizontal, collaborative and caring work model. I first started as a facilitator in the construction of agreements and conflict resolution, applying dynamic governance models (based on sociocracy) and methodologies such as Nonviolent Communication and liberating structures.
In recent years, I have also incorporated training in human development, showing that there is a similarity between management at the individual, organizational and social levels.
I believe that the way forward lies in the integration of all parties. Instead of rejecting uncomfortable voices, locking them away in the attic of our minds, I propose opening an attentive and compassionate dialogue.
At the decision-making level, I return to the same thing. Instead of falling into the default model, where we grant absolute authority to the voice in the highest chair, I suggest learning to find the middle point where one steps away from preference to remain tolerant of the other.
I also believe that part of the responsibility of those who integrate perspectives is to promote that everyone has the psychological safety to express themselves honestly; and that conflict is not something to be avoided, but rather something to take advantage of as a creative energy.
Deep down, I believe that we are all looking for the same thing (which is love), and we simply have different beliefs about how to get there. Harvesting collective intelligence is not only beneficial, but indispensable. That is why governance must be open and in the hands of everyone; since no one has the truth alone.
As a Latin American, with a non-technical profile, I am very aware of the lack of representativeness that some key perspectives have. For this reason, I can empathize with those who come from a foreign context and want to contribute but do not know how to do it well.

My view on the first three articles of the Working Constitution:
1.- This is a working constitution: I welcome the commitment to experimentation and would suggest exploring the notion that a living document will always be better than a bedrock constitution.
2.- OP Citizens and OP Holders will equally coexist within the Collective: I think any system that checks and balances power has a better chance of resilience. I like the bicameral separation, but I wonder if that will continue to be the model in the future.
3.- The Optimism Foundation will be a steward of the Optimism Collective and its early governance model: I think it is wise for the foundation to take on the role of steward of the vision that they have been the source of. I only hope that they have the ability to let go of control when the time comes.
